Streeter Associates begins Airport Renovation
August 29th, 2017

Streeter Associates is beginning the general construction work on the first phase of $58 Million renovation to the Elmira-Corning Regional Airport, made possible by a $40 million grant from the State of New York. The new terminal design will incorporate open-air landscaped courtyards and expansive glass walls, blurring the lines between interior and exterior space. The enlarged foot print will utilize an abundance of natural light with an open feel and allow a more efficient flow for travelers.

The first-phase of the project includes demolition of the eastern-half of the terminal and the construction of temporary walls to separate the work area from the remaining terminal area, initial construction for the terminal expansion with a larger jet bridge and an updated baggage-handling system.

As part of this first phase, Streeter Associates will also be handling the glass curtainwall installation.

The first major area of construction is schedule to be opened in the Summer of 2018, with the entire building slated for completion in late 2018.
